I was born near Tiong Bahru ( in Sit Wah road ) in 1948. My family moved many things to various part of Singapore. But I think, I left my heart in Tiong Bahru! Hence moved back after I retired at age 60. I am HOME!! I very happy here. I told everyone who visited me, that I have 72 cooks serving me all kinds of food everyday.....they are, but of course, the hawker food that are housed a stone throw away in Tiong Bahru market. CTE, AYE and PIE are all linked to Tiong Bahru within one kilometer circumference. So, God is kind that I can still reach any part of town with 15 minutes!
PS. I spotted this write up while reading the morning papers while chomping my 'tahu goreng'! I left it immediately to get back to flat to submit 'enquiry of interest'. Who knows, I may get LUCKY again!

I grew up in TB and the place is full of memories for me and my siblings as we have played in its green patches , form friendships with the other growing kids in the neighbourhood. The designs of the houses along Lim Liak St , Seng Poh Road , EngHoon St are unique in this nostalgic enclave from the past - we are trhankful that HDB has spared its heavy hand of change and not done anything to change the unique and tranquil state of this estate.
