THE FILMMAKERS
Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor (desperate optimists) have worked together for the past 25 years. In all that time they have remained passionate about cinema and community.
Since 2003 Christine and Joe have been working on a project, CIVIC LIFE, which involves the participation of local community groups in the production of films for the cinema, shot on 35mm cinemascope. The CIVIC LIFE films have been shown at film festivals around the world and have won numerous awards. Their debut feature film Helen has won widespread critical acclaim and has been released in a number of countries. They are currently working on their second feature, Mister John, which will be filmed later in 2010.
